A showcase of light projections

When unlocking your Golf GTE, the lights on the headlights, tail light clusters, and radiator grille will illuminate as you approach. The door handle recesses will also light up, and a welcoming light will be projected onto the ground from the exterior mirror.

A sporty new look

The Golf is also available in the sporty R-Line.

The exterior design is characterised by distinctive bumpers in the "R-Line" design with elements in high-gloss black, also high-gloss black side skirts and black 18-inch light-alloy wheels with high-sheen exterior surfaces.

The interior features a multifunction leather sports steering wheel, the driving profile selection and top-of-the-range sports seats with seat covers in the R-Line fabric and ArtVelours microfleece.

The comfortable way to travel

The seats in the new Golf are not only comfortable, they are also flexible. The split-folding rear bench seat lets you extend the luggage compartment as you need. Depending on the equipment line, the seats are covered as standard with fabric and ArtVelours microfleece.

The optional leather seats come with active air conditioning as an option, which provide cooling in summer and warmth in winter. Spoil yourself a little on the road too and ease the tension of everyday life.

Your personal touch.

You can gently illuminate the interior of your new Golf as an option with just a tap of the finger and choose from up to 30 colours. Multiple light strips and illuminated decorative elements allow you to create a personalised lighting atmosphere.

Expand your horizons

Enjoy the full view with the optional electric tilting/sliding panoramic sunroof. Thanks to its enormous glass surface, it bathes all passengers in more light and offers an unrestricted view of the sky. Its electric roller sunshade provides protection from excessive sunlight.

If you want to enjoy some fresh air, the front half of the roof can optionally be raised or moved completely backwards.

The 10.4-inch Composition Media radio includes wireless App-Connect (for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), which allows you to operate apps directly in your Volkswagen. And with Digital Cockpit Pro you can keep an eye on your vehicle information at all times - configured to your wishes.

Golf, open up!

Save yourself the bother of searching for your car key in your trousers, handbag or jacket pocket: once you have the key with you and you are no more than 1.5 metres away from your Golf, the doors and boot lid unlock automatically as if by magic. You also don’t need the key to start the engine. All it takes is the touch of a button. And if the keyless access isn’t working, then it just means that your key isn’t in your pocket after all. Perhaps it’s on the kitchen table?

With the optional heads-up display, part of the windscreen becomes a projection surface that can display your speed, messages from your driver assist systems or navigation instructions. The projection itself is still clearly legible, even when light is shining directly onto the windscreen. So you remain perfectly informed – without needing to take your eyes off the road.

Harman/Kardon sound system

Optional: the eight synchronised loudspeakers with total power output of 480 watts ensure the perfect surround sound, also thanks to the digital 12-channel amplifier and the additional centre speaker. The subwoofer delivers precise bass tones.

Staying in lane.

Monotonous journeys can sometimes turn into dangerous situations. This is where Lane Assist can help: From a speed of 60 km/h, it can detect whether the vehicle unintentionally leaves its own lane. With corrective steering intervention, it can direct the driver’s attention back to what’s happening on the road.

The Side Assist can alert you to dangerous lane changes. An LED indicator in the exterior mirror tells you when a vehicle is in your blind spot or approaching quickly from behind.

When you signal to change lane, Side Assist calculates whether one of these vehicles could pose a danger to you based on position or speed – and draws your attention to this by flashing conspicuously.

Together with the Lane Assist lane departure warning it can also provide support through corrective steering intervention.

The Rear Traffic Alert (standard on R-Line) warns about vehicles crossing your path when reversing out of a parking space. If you do not react, the system can intervene and brake the vehicle to alleviate or even prevent a collision.

The exit warning system (standard on R-Line) helps you to avoid dangerous situations when exiting your vehicle. It can detect when another vehicle is approaching from behind and warn you acoustically and visually before getting out of the car.

Keeps its distance. And sticks to speed limits.

The Adaptive Cruise Control ACC helps you to maintain a previously set maximum speed and preset distance to the vehicle in front.

The standard Front Assist emergency braking system with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring can warn you of critical situations involving pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicles. It can even brake automatically in emergency situations. In evasive and turn-off situations, Front Assist can potentially prevent an impending accident within the limits of the system by issuing a warning or applying the emergency brake.
